We are still here and open to talk, zoom, facetime or email although at present travel is restricted and difficult!
There is some good advice on HVAC and the pandemic provided by CIBSE to which we are able to direct you and talk you through how it affects your particular property. In general the HSE statement is that the risk of transmission of the virus through HVAC is low relative to other transmission routes. The CIBSE guidance suggests running ventilation plant at full fresh air and stopping thermal wheels operating. Where windows can be opened they should be in order to maximize the fresh air supply which is a key to reducing transmission. However in following this guidance care needs to be taken not to overload the central plant and be aware it will increase energy use considerably.
There is further CIBSE guidance on re-occupying buildings that have been vacant or only lightly used, in particular the importance of water hygiene measures to eliminate the threat of a Legionella outbreak.
Whist travel is restricted at present if you are on site or have someone who is there we are happy to study pictures, diagrams or even face time your plant in order to help further!
