On resolving a problem of noise and draughts in a Bristol Building the owners emailed us:
“Thank you Humphrey, you have solved a problem that has baffled engineers for years”
Not exactly a testimonial but one of my favourite post-project chuckles
We specified new boilers and repairs to the heating system of a social housing estate in North London where our investigation shed serious doubt on the allegation that it ever actually worked. On completion of the work one tenant remarked that he had lived there for 25 years and the heating had never worked before. Another tenant appeared at the Estate office and commented that now she knew what the heating was supposed to be like she would like a refund of the heating charge for the 10 previous years in which it had not worked!
